Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's maiden trophy since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of that year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my children together, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," said world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.
But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an better serve.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five games to take the lead.
Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.
He defended four early-game chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman failing to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
